A busy 24 hours for All About Trans activists

11 January 2018 by Kate Llewellyn

It was great to see two All About Trans activists on national news programmes earlier this week.

The award-winning journalist Paris Lees was on first, speaking on BBC Newsnight to Evan Davis about the UK’s “culture war” and free speech. Having met with Evan and the Newsnight team on an interaction in August 2016, it’s positive to see an ongoing relationship and willingness to bring more trans voices to the programme.

Less than 12 hours after Paris’ appearance, Owl Fisher was on BBC Victoria Derbyshire. Although free speech was discussed, this time it was focussed on no platforming at universities. Owl was joined by Patrick Kilduff, President of Edinburgh University Students’ Association, and Linda Bellos. After the interview, Owl headed over to the On Road office for a debrief.

Brilliant coverage on an important issue. Congratulations to both activists.
