Mental Health project in Uganda
Last week we trained 8 people who are off to Uganda to share learning about mental health issues. 'Heartsounds' is an East London NHS Trust initiative which is linking up mental health professionals and users with their counterparts in Uganda.
This September they will meet Uganda’s mental health champions at workshops, school and university visits, and radio shows in the hope of boosting understanding and appreciation for the important role that service users play in supporting healthy communities.
We set them up with their own social network called 'Heartsounds' and the idea behind the podcasting training is that they will now be able to report on their own experiences and share them with a wider audience.
