Helping Freelances use social media to promote themselves

It's harder than ever for a freelance journalist or creative to attract enough work to sustain themselves. 


I've been delivering podcasting and video blogging training for the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) for the past four years and am now working with them on a series of free workshops for freelances.

Called 'Make Impact', these sessions are designed to help freelances with marketing and promotional techniques. 


What are the most useful lessons for freelancers from these sort of workshops?
