About Me:

I’m a 22 year old Brooklyn girl living in Philly. After graduating with a degree in Sociology from Haverford College, I was awarded a fellowship by my college to work in a non profit and connect students at Haverford to Philadelphia, strengthening city-school relationship. I currently coordinate a leadership program for teenagers in North Philly, and am helping to establish a social justice institute at my alma mater that will provide service oriented projects as a way to get students into Philly.

I have been living in the city for about 7 months and the verdict is still out on how I feel (Philly and I have a love-hate relationship). I’m the oldest out of 6 and I love my family dearly. When I am not working I am blogging, falling in and out love, eating, and laughing at things that no one else seems to find funny. :-) People seem to be amazed at how I can one minute be talking about the impact of globalization on racial identity then watch Spongebob Square Pants. But we are complex creatures, no?

What change would you like to see around you?

Fearlessness when it comes to trying something new. We prohibit change when we are afraid to take risks.
