Hometown:
Fareham, Hampshire, England
About Me:
Hi. I am the Head of Communications for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, a wildlife conservation charity working to connect people with nature. I have recently moved to Hampshire and am busy exploring the local area with my partner and energetic and enthusiastic dog (not that my partner isn't energetic and enthusiastic!). I loike walking, reading and photography but have just embarked on a part-time MSc course so studying takes most of my leisure time.
What change would you like to see around you?
Did you know that whereas 10% of the UK land surface is protected by conservation legislation, less than 0.001% of our seas are? Out of sight really is out of mind. If everyone knew what damage was being done to our marine environment they would be shouting long and loud to stop it. Fore several years now the Govt have promised us a Marine Bill which would enable us to create marine nature reserves but yet again they have just reneged on that promise despite a petition of over 350,000 people. We need to put pressure on now to make them face up to their responsibilities.

I have been doing some informal reserach to find out whether different TV programmes are popular with viewers in different cities around the UK. Are we really different or are we all common TV watchers under the skin? Click here to listen to my podcast to find out what makes those Londoners turn on the TV.

My first test blog

Hi - I have just returned to university studying 20+ years since I was last doing it. I am excited, highly motivated - AND SCARED!!! Everything has changed - the relationships between students and lecturers, the way so much is done via a virtual learning environment, even the way the library is organised and resources ara available. I am worried I won't keep up, that I will be out of my depth, that everyone is more capable than me, that I have bitten off more than I can chew, that my work wil
